The Chinese Head Tax and Sir John A Macdonald
The question I asked was, "Was Sir John A Macdonald an effective political leader?" To answer my question I have written a song and created a music video.
What was the most interesting thing you learned about your topic?
The most interesting thing I learned is that the money collected from the Head Tax is he same amount that was needed to pay for the west end of the railway.
What important lessons have you learned that you want to share with other Canadians?
I have learned that people today cannot judge events that happened in the past because of the different time periods.
How would you compare your life today to the lives of those studied in your project?
Today in life people leave the country and go on business trips leaving their families at home but they can keep in touch and it is not a permanent move.
